Mens Earrings Studs
Mens Earrings Studs
Mens stud earrings are very popular today. Many men like to wear studs because the stud is attached to and does not hang down from the ear like most women’s earrings. This is important for many men as their lives and careers may be rather active and having earrings dangling down from their ears might be dangerous.
Who wears studs and why?
Studs are popular amongst a lot musicians. Beyond not visibly hanging down from the ear, studs are also popular because they can fit almost any kind of dress style. They go well with both smart casual and formal attire. This makes studs very flexible and versatile, definitely something to consider if buying them as a gift.
Another advantage of studs is that there is also the kind of stud that does not require your ear to be pierced. For men who are affraid of having or just don’t want to have their ear pierced, they can now simply buy magnetic studs which click on and off. These earrings are also a great way for anyone new to earrings to try them out without having to worry about having their ears pierced before they decide if they like the idea of wearing earrings or not.
Square or round stud?
So should you go for a stud that square or round? Unfortunately there is no right or wrong answer to the shape of the stud you get. This is because ultimately the shape of the stud depends on your personal tastes and your style. What works you may or may not work for someone else, so unfortunately there is no clear-cut way of answering this very good question. However, the general rule of thumb is that men’s earrings need to be subtle to make the most impact. Square studs are generally going to stick out a little bit more the round ones, so it is the first time you try wearing studs or you know that your dress style doesn’t scream look at me to other people, then I would recommend that you go with round, at least until you know what works and doesn’t work with your wardrobe.
How big should my stud be?
Answering this question is a little bit easier than square or round because the size of your stud depends on the message or impression that you want to give to others. What kind of person are you? Are you outgoing? Do you like to be the centre of attention? Or perhaps you’re the kind of guy who likes to be himself and ensure is not being the centre of the party. We are all different so earrings work for me and work for you, however, generally speaking I would recommend that you size of your stud match the impression you want to give others. The bigger the stud the louder the message, so I would definitely recommend that if this is the first time you have worn earrings that you go for something small and as discreet as possible if you are worried about what others might think.
Should my stud have a diamond?
You have probably seen stars and other famous people wearing diamond earings studs. Diamonds can look great if you’re the kind of guy who can pull it off, and this really is the hardest thing to do. Unfortunately diamonds look great but they aren’t suited to everyone, so you may want to go for either something a little bit more laid back depending on your style and personal feelings. The other problem with diamonds is that they add considerably to the cost of your studs. So if you are just starting out and looking for studs for the first time, then I would caution you against spending too much on a set of diamond studs if you aren’t 100% sure that they would work with your personal style. There are plenty of other precious or semiprecious stones that you can get put in your studs which will add a little bit of bling to your style but won’t cost anywhere near as much as diamonds do.
OK, but are they right for me?
So at the end of the day are men’s stud earings right for me? The thing you need to keep in mind is that studs are generally subtle, or at the very least more discreet than the other kinds of earings men can get. Of course if you get a diamond or a precious stone put in one this completely changes the message you send to others. My advice would be to go for some black stainless steel studs if you are just starting out. Don’t pick anything too big and definitely get black, because small black stars will goal with just about anything and everything that most guys have in their wardrobe. If you find that studs are right for you then you may want to consider changing the size, colour, shape or even adding a precious stone if you think you could pull it off. Whatever you decide on I wish you all the best. Good luck!
